An Sanctoir is West Cork’s very own Holistic Community Centre and is home to a variety of weekly classes, weekend workshops, performances, rituals and celebrations. It is a beautiful light filled octagonal practice space with wooden floors and underfloor heating , set within a 30 acre nature reserve, just outside the coastal village of Ballydehob.
What Happens Here
An Sanctoir is more than a space; it is also the community of people who come together to nourish their mind, body and spirits. All are welcome. You will find classes for men and women, children and teenagers. Come experience your connection with the beautiful Irish countryside.
Classes & WorkshopsOur experienced friendly teachers will welcome you to weekly classes from Yoga to dance, to Tai Chi & Chi Gung, to meditative movement. We have a busy and exciting schedule of weekend workshops taught by international facilitators. If there is something you would like to see or try at the space then do get in touch.
An Sanctoir is part of the lively Ballydehob community. You will find world music nights, community singing, art trails, sculpture and fantastic outdoor theatrics . There is always a welcome for ‘craic agus ceol’ as well as mindfulness, meditation and contemplation.
An Sanctoir is run by a group of volunteer trustees on a not for profit basis. We do need money to service our original building debt and to pay for our running costs. When you give to An Sanctoir you are contributing to sustaining our community heart. This is one type of energy you can contribute – but you could also invest time. We welcome your skills and ideas. How about working on our forest garden project? Want to plant a tree as a memorial to special person? Have you a community group who would like to come and use the space or the land? Do get in touch – we are always open to welcoming new volunteers.
We are also available for functions . You can celebrate your civil partnership or wedding in this beautiful natural setting. We welcome you to create a ceremony for a naming or for a passing. An Sanctoir is a spiritual home for all creeds and none. An Sanctoir could be used for a non-religious marriage or funeral.
